Golf clubs are used to hit the golf ball. Each club is composed of a shaft with a lance (or 'grip') on the top end and a club head on the bottom. Absolutely a difficult shot! Sometimes even the greatest players just have to take their medicine. One thing I remembered listening to was the Mizuno Masters Series with Luke Donald where he talked about intentionally getting himself into uncomfortable situations and practiced them.

We do this at our range, I'll give my students scenarios and have them try to work the ball around them.

Back side of a greenside bunker cost me an extra stroke yesterday. Opening the SW face caused a shank that fortunately rolled through and out of bunker but not in a good scoring position. Also did not have a lot of green to work with on the shot.

As a golfer I often find myself having discussions with non golfers about the legitimacy of calling golfing a sport. These ignorant individuals like to point to the lack of physicality, as they see it, in the sport of golf. They claim that golf lacks many of the qualities that make football, basketball and even baseball true physical recreation. Your idea of 'giving to get' is such a logical approach to building and increasing business. It's a shame most golf facilities don't 'get it' when it comes to attracting a very lucrative market....the women golfers!

Your idea of 'giving to get' is such a logical approach to building and increasing business. It's a shame most golf facilities don't 'get it' when it comes to attracting very lucrative market....the women golfers!

Wow this is so funny. The idea is very true. If I don't warm up, the first couple holes are terrible for me. I think it is so funny having Washington and Lincoln on Mt. Rushmore talk about warming up. Great idea and very entertaining. It made me laugh.

I agree with what Stacy says about how to reach out to women. If more courses had activies or groups for women to join I think women would be more comfortable to play more. I know for me the only time I play is with my husband on the weekend. If my home course had activities/groups for women I would definitely join. This would give me a chance to meet people in the area (I am also new to the area) and play with women at a similar level to me. I know when I go to either practice or play I am usually the only women there. That is really discouraging to see.
